| NOTE ON HAND TO HAND COMBAT It is important to note that real Hand to Hand Combat is used by the Military and Police (although it can be adapted for civilian use). Hand to Hand Combat implies that (1) you are in Combat, and (2) that you are unable to shoot or blow up your opponent from a safe distance. Therefore you have been forced to engage in battle within arms reach of each other. Real Hand to Hand Combat is rarely unarmed. That situation could present itself, however most of the time H2H will happen while you still have a side arm and knife, and may even still be wearing your tactical rifle. In combat, you will be wearing combat gear - and that must also be taken into consideration. Another key factor in the success of the victor in a Hand to Hand Combat situation is the Force of Aggression. Sometimes the more aggressive participant will gain advantage by simply overpowering the opponent. Instruction in H2H must take all of this into consideration to be successful.
