"I joined Kobukai to learn about effective alternatives to using lethal force
and how to effectively handle someone using lethal force against me or
my family. As a certified rifle and pistol instructor and competitive
practical shooter, I know how to use firearms effectively in self-defense. I
also know using a firearm is not always appropriate or feasible in every
situation. I am an average sized Joe with no athletic background and no
significant experience in any martial arts. I joined Kobukai in fair shape
but certainly not an athlete. It was one of the best decisions I could have
