Dojo dues is due by the first class of each month. Do not embarrass yourself or insult your dojo by being late.

No gum chewing or candy in class.

Students must remove jewelry (that is not permanently attached) before class for safety.

Students are required to wash their gi's after every class.

Do not wash your belt.

Students will not be allowed in class if they are intoxicated in any way.

Students are required to keep finger and toe nails short, and long hair tied back with a soft tie during class.

Students may not study at another dojo or study another martial art while training at Kobukai without express permission from the Head Instructor (until blackbelt level).

Jujitsu practice outside the dojo is discouraged, as it often leads to injuries.

Students will inform Sensei of any injuries immediately.

Students are required to attend at least two classes at their home dojo per week in order to remain a student in good standing at Kobukai.  If there is a reason you will miss class, you are required to contact Sensei to let him know you will not be attending.

Students will not embarrass themselves or disrespect their instructor or other students by arriving at class late.  Arrive 10 minutes before class begins.  If you arrive late, you will enter the dojo and wait at the edge of the mat in seiza until the instructor bows you into class. If you arrive late, you will be Sensei's uke for a period of 5 minutes.

Students will bow to the Kamiza when entering or exiting the dojo.

Students will bow to their partner before and after practice.

The two lowest ranking persons at each class will be responsible for cleaning the mats and dusting the dojo after class.

Rank promotion is up to the sole discretion of Sensei.

Membership and instruction at the Kobukai dojo is a privilege and not a right.  You may be asked to leave and your membership terminated by the Head Instructor without prior notice for reasons such as: chronic lateness, bad attitude, dangerous practice, lack of etiquette, non-payment of dues, fighting, or repeated breaking of the dojo rules.
