About Our Instructor
Melissa Emma has been practicing yoga for 6 years in a variety of disciplines
and has completed AFAA Practical Yoga Instructor training. In addition to
yoga, her study of fitness, dance and martial arts has allowed her to cultivate a
deep awareness of the body, alignment, form and breathing techniques that she
would like to share with you.
BENEFITS OF YOGA
Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India
over a thousand years ago and has evolved to include many different styles and
disciplines. While the physical benefits of a yoga practice will most certainly
include increased strength, flexibility and stamina, it is a holistic practice that
unifies the mind, body and spirit. With a regular yoga practice, stillness in chaos
is cultivated, thereby improving focus, calmness and clear thinking. Vitality and
energy can also be expected from a regular practice. Pathworks Yoga classes
will be grounded in an interdisciplinary flow-style practiced at a beginner
through intermediate level.
Please bring a yoga mat and dress comfortably. A few straps, blocks, and
bolsters will be available for those who do not have them.
